Hyde Park, NY – A
presentation of music and pictures will showcase the history of flying from
man’s earliest attempts to space travel during the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra (NDSO) concert, “.” The media presentation, created by
local filmmaker Jarek Zabcynski,
will also feature Hudson Valley flight including the Rhinebeck Aerodrome and
the Balloon Festival. Guest artist Kimberly Kay will narrate Flight, the Story of Wilbur and Orville
Wright as told by their sister. The concert will be held on Saturday, March
30, 2019 at 8 p.m. in the Marriott Pavilion at The Culinary Institute of America.
Kathleen Beckmann, music director for the orchestra shares,
“I have chosen an eclectic mix of orchestral works for this program, with each
piece expressing the majesty and wonder of our ability to defy gravity and soar
among the clouds.” The concert will include Acceleration
Waltz by Johann Strauss, the haunting Berceuse and triumphant Finale from
Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite, 龱-ǰDZ’s Flight of the Bumblebee and Walton’s Spitfire Prelude and Fugue.
To complement the evening, the CIA will open its for a
special pre-performance dining experience. The menu will include family-style
salad and antipasti, a selection of five gourmet pastas served tableside, and
dessert. Reservations for the dinner are available from 5 to 6:15 p.m. The $39 prix
fixe excludes beverages, student support surcharge, and tax. To book your

Tickets for the concert are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $5 for students. NDSO also offers a reserved
seating package which includes choice of show seating and guaranteed seating at Ristorante Caterina de’
