The Culinary Institute of America Appoints VP of Finance

Maria Krupin Joins CIA with 25+ Years of Experience in Higher Ed Finance

Hyde Park 鈥 The Culinary Institute of America has appointed Maria Krupin as the college鈥檚 vice president of finance. Ms. Krupin joined the world鈥檚 premier culinary college on February 3 after 23 years with Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ, the last 17 months as vice president for administration and finance. She replaces Charlie O鈥橫ara, who is retiring as senior vice president of finance and administration after 32 years at the CIA.

In addition to serving as vice president at Ramapo College, Ms. Krupin was also the associate vice president of budget and fiscal planning, acting controller, executive director of budget and fiscal planning, and both director and associate director of budget and fiscal affairs. During her tenure at the college, she also served as an adjunct instructor for four years. Earlier in her career, she was a senior accountant at Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, NJ and an accountant with a CPA firm in New Rochelle, NY.

As the CIA鈥檚 vice president of finance, Ms. Krupin is responsible for providing vision and leadership for all financial matters of the not-for-profit college, and acting as its chief financial officer. She will develop and implement strategies for managing finances at all four campuses and will oversee all higher educational compliance-related financial matters.

鈥淚 am delighted to announce the appointment of Maria Krupin to my cabinet as vice president of finance,鈥 said CIA President Dr. Tim Ryan. 鈥淢aria has had an accomplished and progressive career in finance. I know that, as our chief financial officer, she will steward our financial resources well to support the continued growth and fiscal advance of the college.鈥

Maria Krupin holds a Master of Science in management, with a concentration in finance, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Pace University in Pleasantville, NY. Among her many financial and higher education affiliations, she serves as a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and has given presentations to academic peers on the topic of 鈥渁llocating resources to achieve mission during uncertain times.鈥
