Napa, CA – is the new host venue for The Oxbow School’s Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Since February, four internationally known artists visiting Oxbow have given presentations in ������������’s 280-seat theater about their work, their careers, and what art means to them.

The brings in students from throughout the United States for one-semester interdisciplinary academic programs focusing on art. Artists who have addressed this semester’s 43 Oxbow students from the ������������ stage as part of the series have been Clare Rojas, Richard T. Walker, , and . This spring’s final guest lecturer is , who will be speaking at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12. After that, the program resumes in October.

“The Oxbow School is pleased to partner with The Culinary Institute of America in sponsoring the Oxbow School Visiting Artist Lectures,” says Stephen Thomas, founding director of The Oxbow School. “Artist lectures and residencies are an important element in the Oxbow School curriculum. Emerging and established artists from around the country come to Napa to interact with Oxbow students, and we invite the general public to join us.”

The CIA acquired ������������ in late 2015, and is in the process of a phased reopening of the venue that closed in 2008. The theater is the first part of the facility to open to the public, and the CIA’s partnership with The Oxbow School is the first of many that the college plans to create with community organizations in the Napa Valley.

“We envision ������������ as a public space for community use,” says Thomas Bensel, managing director of the CIA’s California campus. “Not only will it once again become a destination for tourists visiting Napa; it will also be a gathering place for local residents to experience food, wine, and culture.”

All Visiting Artist Lecture Series presentations are open to the public and free of charge.
