“Samplings” Classes Get Food Enthusiasts Into the Kitchens at The Culinary Institute of America

San Antonio, TX – Food enthusiasts in the San Antonio area who have been thinking about taking a cooking class at The Culinary Institute of America now have a perfect opportunity to “sample” the experience.

Samplings courses are two-hour demonstration-based classes, with interactive components that provide an entrée into learning cooking skills from a CIA expert. For the spring season, the is offering on April 30 and on May 21. Both classes run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The pasta class covers how to make fresh pastas in a variety of shapes, and with different fillings and sauces. Grilling will cover the tips and tricks that professional chefs use to grill meats, seafood, vegetables, and fruits.

The lecture and demonstration delve pretty deeply into a single subject,” says April Goess, director of education at the CIA San Antonio, who is teaching this spring’s classes. “And don’t be surprised if I ask you to join me on stage to help prepare some of the dishes.”

For $75 per person, participants get the lecture about a cooking technique, demonstration of several preparations, a tasting of the foods being made, and recipes of the day’s dishes.
