Opening Weekend Includes Wine Tastings, Culinary Demonstrations, Book Signings, and Movies

Napa, CA – The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at ������������, the ultimate Napa Valley destination for exploring, experiencing, and enjoying the world of food and wine, is pleased to invite visitors to attend its Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19.

During the celebration weekend, guests can experience everything currently has to offer. On Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., there will be classes in the Napa Valley Vintners Theater, book signings with CIA alumni and chef demonstrations in the Store at CIA ������������, continuous food-related film shorts in the ������������ theater, and wine tastings in the Atrium. Guests can also view event staging in the facility’s private dining rooms.

The schedule for the Grand Opening Celebration:

Saturday, February 18

• Noon–5 p.m.—Cookie decorating for the entire family, wine tastings, and film screenings
• Noon–12:20 p.m.—W�ǰ������DZ�: Flavor versus Taste (free)
• 1–3 p.m.—Silver Oak book signing with Dominic Orsini ’95
• 1–4 p.m.—Olive oil and vinegar tasting with Round Pond Estate
• 1:15–2:15 p.m.—Cooking demo: Homemade Fresh Cheese ($30 per person)
• 2:30–3 p.m.—Ribbon cutting with Dr. Tim Ryan ’77, president of the CIA
• 3:15–3:35 p.m.—Cooking demo: How to Make Pâte à Choux (free)
• 4:15–4:35 p.m.—W�ǰ������DZ�: Classic Cocktails with a Twist (free)
• 5:30–7 p.m.—Wine tasting class: Basic Flavor Interactions ($35 per person)

Sunday, February 19

• Noon–5 p.m.—Wine tastings, film screenings, and Messermeister knife demo
• Noon–3 p.m.—Clif Family Winery food tasting
• 12:30–12:50 p.m.—W�ǰ������DZ�: Sauce It Up! (free)
• 1:30–3 p.m.—Wine class: Nailed It! Cabernet Sauvignon ($50 per person)
• 4:15–4:35 p.m.—Unveiling of the Bob & Margrit Mondavi sculpture

Reservations will be accepted for for both days of the Grand Opening celebration beginning at 11:30 a.m. for lunch. Call 707-967-2555 or . The bar will be open each day from 11 a.m. until close (10 p.m. on Saturday, 9 p.m. on Sunday). The Store at CIA ������������, featuring a curated collection of cooking supplies, cookbooks, glassware, specialty foods, linens, and local pottery, will be open during its regular weekend business hours from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
