The path to success begins with a first impression and at a CIA Career Fair it鈥檚 what sets your trajectory towards your future. At CIA, professionalism is valued upon everything else and is what sets you apart from the competition. Every semester, there is a one-of-a-kind career fair with over 150 of the very best food, beverage, and hospitality employers looking to hire CIA students鈥攁 massive career steppingstone. To ease the pressure of this pivotal moment, the Career and Academic Advising office here on campus helps CIA students build their r茅sum茅s for optimal success. CIA Student, Adam Snyder 鈥24, prepared for the day by researching at least three externship sites. 鈥淚 wanted to find a place that would challenge me and give me a unique experience,鈥 Adam says on his choices.

- Have a Game Plan: The career fair can be overwhelming but having at least three businesses in mind beforehand really makes a difference. Have your own personal criteria, whether it鈥檚 a location, type of service, or even just pay.
- Dress for Success: Being presentable is the first step in making a good impression. When you feel and look put together, it often boosts your own confidence which leads to a better interviewing process.
- Stay Organized: Be prepared to set up interviews with said companies. It is important that you stay organized and properly keep to your schedule of interviews.
- Network: The employers are here for one and one thing only, you! Don鈥檛 be afraid to make connections, it not only benefits you in your job search, but also in future career opportunities.
